[Mathematical model of histamine bronchospasm].

A mathematical model of changes in histamine concentration in the wall of human bronchiole was constructed. The parameters of the model adequately characterize the state of patients with bronchial asthma.

[Bifurcation analysis of a mathematical model of the interaction of cytotoxic lymphocytes with tumor cells. The effect of immunologic amplification of tumor growth and its interconnection with other "anomolous" phenomena of oncoimmunology].

Mathematical model of the immune response of the cytotoxic lymphocytes to the nonexponentially growing immunogenic tumour has been studied. Local and global biffurcations for realistic values of the parameters were determined. The connection of the oncoimmunological "anomalous" phenomena (immunostimulation of tumour growth, "sneaking through" of tumour, formation of the tumour "dormant" state) has been shown. The probability of manifestation of these effects in vivo was estimated.

[Effect of habitat type and population density on the stress level of midday gerbils (Meriones meridianus Pall.) in free-living populations].

New methods of noninvasive evaluation of the endocrine status of animals by the content of hormones in feces were used to study the relationship between the stress level and social (population density) and ecological (habitat integrity) indices in natural populations of midday gerbil in the Southern Kalmykia in 2000. Stress level proved to increase with habitat disturbance but did not depend on population density of animals. The obtained data are discussed in the context of species-specific ecology and social behavior of midday gerbils.

[Computer analysis of the dynamics of two tumor foci with respect to circulating immune cells].

A mathematical model of the bilocal immunogenic tumors was analysed by a computer. An increase of the intensity or/and growth of asymmetry in cytotoxic cells migration between two tumor centres could lead to bifurcations in the system. This approach allows interpretation of a number of paradoxes in the interrelations between the original tumor and metastases.
