[Rheologic properties of the blood in Raynaud's syndrome and disease].

The investigation of rheological properties of blood in 78 patients has revealed considerable disorders which were most pronounced at the IIId and IVth stages of the disease and were of leading importance in pathogenesis of ischemic lesions in the extremities. Changes in the protein, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism are thought to be the factors promoting disturbances of rheological properties of blood.

[Blood rheological and coagulation properties in abdominal aortic aneurysm].

From the analysis of information on 158 patients who underwent operation for aneurysm of the abdominal aorta and on the basis of complications associated with impaired hemostasis, considerable disorders were revealed in the blood rheologic and coagulative properties. These disorders intensify during the operation and in the first 3 postoperative days and may lead to the development of microcirculatory and thrombotic complications. The syndrome of generalized intravascular coagulation may develop in patients with large aneurysms of the abdominal aorta, in which operations are most traumatizing. A scheme for correcting disturbances in the blood rheologic and coagulative properties in the pathological condition is given.

[Blood rheological disorders in atherosclerotic lesion of the abdominal aorta and their correction by the use of aspirin].

The initial hemorheologic values and their dynamics in various periods after reconstructive operations were studied in 70 patients with atherosclerosis of the abdominal aorta. The rheologic blood properties proved to be considerably changed in atherosclerotic affection of the abdominal aorta. The causes of the hemorheologic disorders in this pathological condition are marked changes in regional hemodynamics and the character of the blood flow and significant disorders of protein, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. Study of the effect of aspirin on the rheologic properties of blood in this contingent of patients showed the expediency of its use both in preoperative management and in the postoperative period. Aspirin reduces significantly the degree of blood platelet aggregation and the seeming viscosity of blood.

[Disorder of the rheological properties of the blood as a risk factor in interventions on the abdominal aorta and its branches].

102 patients with abdominal aorta and its branches atherosclerotic injuries of various forms and localization have been studied. The patients have showed significant disturbances of the rheologic blood properties which aggravate during the surgical treatment and play a big part in the development of postoperative thrombotic and microcirculatory complications. An outline of the correction of hemorheologic disorders allowing to diminish the number of complications and to improve the results of the treatment of this pathology is devised and set forth in this work.

[Metabolic activity of the gastrocnemius muscles in atherosclerotic lesion of the abdominal aorta and arteries of the extremities].

The histochemical investigation of the oxidizing-reducing enzymes in the gastrocnemius muscle was carried out on the material of 42 patients with atherosclerotic lesions of the abdominal aorta and the extremity arteries. The results obtained were compared with the muscle blood flow value and the level of the partial strain of oxygen in the gastrocnemius muscle. A conclusion is made that it is expedient to investigate the level of metabolic activity of muscles of the injured extremity for the estimation of the vitability of muscles which is very important for solving the question about the possible revascularization of the extremity in severe ischemia due to chronic occlusing process in the extremity arteries.

[Characteristics of blood coagulation and of the red blood in patients with an arteriosclerotic lesion of the abdominal aorta].

The values of blood coagulation and red blood were studied in 74 patients with various forms of atherosclerotic affection of the abdominal aorta and its branches. Tendency towards hypercoagulation both before operation and in various periods after it was revealed in these patients. The development of thrombotic complications is preceded by a marked increase in the fibrinogen level and in the blood platelet count. High hematocrit with a relatively small erythrocyte count and hemoglobin concentration was revealed, which was linked with the spheric shape of the erythrocytes. It is concluded that a complex of antithrombotic therapy is necessary; it should be begun before the operation and continued particularly actively in the first two postoperative weeks.
