[Congenital cystic adenomatous defect of development of the lung].

Clinicomorphological characterization is given for congenital cystic adenomatous lung maldevelopment in a boy of 1.5 months. It is suggested that relevant teratogenic factor may be furnished by an acute respiratory infection which the child's mother had in the third trimester of pregnancy.

[Clinico-morphological rationale for surgical tactics in local peripheral hamartomas of the lung].

The report deals with a retrospective clinico-morphological study of the data on 91 cases of local peripheral hamartoma of the lung. Both the authors' observations and literature data point to their non-tumor nature. Malignant transformation of lung hamartoma or relapse occur extremely rare. Therefore, small peripheral hamartomas of the lung, which do not tend to grow, should not be treated surgically, lung, provided the clinico-roentgenological diagnosis has been confirmed by a morphological procedure (puncture or aspiration biopsy).

[Morphometric characteristics of the immunomorphological reactions in metastasizing and nonmetastasizing thyroid cancers].

Morphometrically, immunomorphological reactions have been studied on the intraoperative material from 70 patients with thyroid cancer of various histological pattern. It was found that metastasization of cancerous tumors proceeds on the background of suppressed antitumor immunity--a reduced index of the stroma lymphoid infiltration, diminishing of the T-dependent paracortical zone of regional lymph nodes and less content of T-lymphocytes and macrophages in it.

[Morphogenetic aspects of thyroid cancer with multiple growth foci].

A complex morphologic study of resected material from 54 patients with primary tumors was carried out. Multiple foci of malignant growth were found in 25 cases. Three types of tumor foci were identified: (1) primary tumor, (2) early stages of multicentral growth and (3) metastases in organs. Morpho-histochemical criteria for diagnosis of morphogenetically -- different foci of malignant growth are discussed.

[Relapsing parasitic embolism of the pulmonary artery in hepatic echinococcosis].

A case of multiple echinococcosis of the liver in a woman of 52 complicated by perforation of the parasite cyst into the right hepatic vein, repeated parasitic embolism of the pulmonary artery and anaphylactic shock is presented. A set of changes in the lungs in this process is described: giant-cell arteritis and thromboarteritis, hemorrhagic infarctions, giant-cell reaction in the reticular definite tissue as well as sarcoid reaction in bronchopulmonary and tracheo-bronchial lymph nodes.
