A bank's role in EDI implementation.
Abstract
By improving accuracy and speed of accounting operations, financial electronic data interchange (EDI) can enhance a healthcare organization's cash flow. Banks play a key role in implementing EDI for accounts receivable. This article describes how a healthcare organization's bank can assist in EDI by translating incoming electronic payments into the healthcare organization's general ledger format, thus allowing the organization to take advantage of EDI without investing in expensive translation software.
