Abstract
This paper is designed to ask several questions, raise a number of issues and generally attempt to challenge a variety of widely held assumptions. The reader is not asked to agree, only to consider the issues. The title ends in a question mark. The author's answer is "NO, neither the public nor our government nor the medical profession have demonstrated a commitment to health."
