Look for the silver lining.
Abstract
On January 1, 1980, the price of silver on the London Metal Exchange reached an all-time record of pounds 21.55 per troy ounce. The predicted price in 1978 had been pound 3.80. This sudden upturn in the market sent people scurrying to silver merchants with family trophies, and put a glow on the faces of hospital finance officers. Proceeds from the sale of photographic waste from radiography departments are very healthy.
