A computerized assisted pharmacy automatic stop order procedure.

Abstract

Automatic stop orders, which still seem to plague many hospitals, can be instituted with the cooperation of the medical staff, legal counsel, nursing service, and administration. The use of a computerized assisted pharmacy system, described here, allows compliance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals' regulations and also prevents possible legal complications. By utilizing computer-generated reports, appropriate labels, and a drug order entry system for entering a discontinue/renewal time and date, compliance with established policies is possible.

Strange nonchaotic attractors in driven excitable systems.

Through quasiperiodic forcing, an excitable system can be driven into a regime of spiking behavior that is both aperiodic and stable. This is a consequence of strange nonchaotic dynamics: the motion of the system is on a fractal attractor and the largest Lyapunov exponent is negative.

Computation of multicenter overlap integrals with Slater-type orbitals using psi(alpha)-ETOs.

Multicenter overlap integrals appearing in the evaluation of multicenter-multielectron integrals of central and noncentral interaction potentials are calculated using complete orthonormal sets of psi(alpha)-ETOs (alpha=1, 0, -1, -2,...). The final results are expressed in terms of two-center overlap integrals between STOs. The convergence of the series is tested by calculating concrete cases for arbitrary quantum numbers, screening constants and location of STOs.
