Abstract

Thomas L. Perry has been a professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia, since 1962. He has an international reputation as a neuroscientist, especially for his research on Huntingtons Chorea, Parkinson's disease and several forms of biochemically-determined mental deficiency in children. He is very active, both in Canada and internationally, in the movement to prevent nuclear war. In 1952 he was one of the 30 or so Los Angeles health professionals subjected to FBI/HUAC attack. He was President of the Association of Medical Students in 1941 and of the Association of Internes and Medical Students in 1942 and 1943.
