Right ventricular infarction.

Abstract

RVI is complex and often overlooked. It presents with a wide clinical spectrum from a rather benign, uncomplicated disorder to a serious event resulting in shock. Critical care nurses should be aware of the possibility of RVI in any patient presenting with an inferior or posterior wall infarction. A nursing care plan is included that addresses the issues discussed in this article.
