Radiation therapy in dermatologic training centers.
Abstract
A survey of dermatologic training centers in the United States and Canada discloses that only 12% use conventional x-ray therapy intramurally and an additional 15% utilize grenz ray therapy. Although many refer patients to radiologists on a regular basis, half of the present training programs consider radiation therapy unnecessary or undesirable except in the unusual situation. Steps should be taken to assure radiation therapy an appropriate place in the dermatologic armamentarium.
