The qualification/disqualification process in athletics.
Abstract
Because athletics are an important part of today's society, the family physician often serves as a sports physician. The qualification/disqualification process is extremely important, and the family physician is frequently involved in this decision-making process. A medical history should always accompany the physical examination. The concept of "selective participation" should be carefully considered.
