The antipsychiatry movement during the 60's and 70's was characterized by ideas of mental illness as a result of political repression and social problems, supported by the philosophy of Neomarxism. Although their exponents failed because of uneffectiveness, until today some theoretical relicts remained in sociological and literary niches or in small groups of "new antipsychiatry", fighting against pharmacological treatment, hospitalization and any kind of guardianship.
