Rest and respiration during obstructive sleep apnoea.
Abstract
Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a condition in which the airway is obstructed during sleep. Although often harmless, OSA can produce significant morbidity. This paper describes the condition and how it is assessed in a respiratory diseases unit. A case study is given that highlights the far-reaching physical, social and psychological sequelae to this condition.
