A quick method for boxing complete denture elastomeric impressions.

Abstract

Rubber base impressions must be poured immediately for maximum accuracy. A method of boxing is presented that uses a previously formed thermoplastic box for pouring the complete denture rubber base impressions in a few minutes.

Complete dentures--the soft option. An update for general dental practice.

Permanent soft linings are frequently used as a 'soft option' blanket treatment for problems such as chronic pain under a lower denture, when it would be more appropriate to diagnose and eliminate any possible precipitating factors. The aim of this article is to provide an update on temporary and permanent soft materials and to give guidance on their indications and limitations of use, together with advice on their maintenance.

Establishing the posterior palatal seal during the final impression stage.

A procedure for adding a posterior palatal seal at the final impression stage with green stick modeling compound is described. The location and degree of tissue displacement of the posterior palatal seal area are controlled by the dentist. This procedure is suggested to be more accurate than the arbitrary scraping of the master cast.
