Refining Medicare Volume Performance Standards.

Abstract

This commentary focuses on the current workings of Medicare's Volume Performance Standards and possible alternatives that would make the program more effective in containing costs. The author presents his own perspectives as well as examining the options put forward in the two related papers by Holahan and Auckerman and Miller and Welch published in this issue of Inquiry.
