The athletic trainer's perspective.
Abstract
This article provides a comprehensive understanding of the qualifications and responsibilities of an athletic trainer. It describes the athletic trainer's role in conditioning, injury prevention, and treatment of athletic injuries. The advantages of different types of flexibility, running, and strength training are also included. In addition, the importance of diet and fluid replacement are explained with the guidelines to follow, and treatment and rehabilitation programs for the injured athlete are described.
