[Multifactor immunopharmacological analysis. Effect of rifampicin and low-molecular immunomodulator of microbial origin on the primary immune response to fraction 1 of vaccine EV].

Multifactor analysis was applied to combined effect of a low molecular immunomodulator of microbial origin and rifampicin on the primary immune response (increased delayed type hypersensitivity and antibody titer) to the antigens of vaccine EV fraction I. Computer processing of the experimental data provided construction of the 2nd order polynomial models satisfactorily describing cellular and humoral responses in the combined therapy. For increasing the informative capacity of the analysis of the polynomial statistic models it was proposed to develop quasimonofactor relationships reflecting the factor effect on the output with changing of the other factors within the studied ranges. Nomograms (equal level lines at fixed values of one factor) were constructed which provided rapid and correct estimation of optimal values for the regulating parameters (drug doses and administration time). Immunostimulating activity of the microbial immunomodulator was estimated quantitatively and conditions for selective regulation of the cellular and humoral responses were determined.

[Methodological aspects of an experimental multifactorial study of the combined use of antibiotics and immunomodulators].

Methodological approaches to investigation of the protective effect of natural immunomodulators are described. The use of multifactorial experiment design, a model of infectious processes and immunomodulators alone or in combination with antibiotics is implied. Theoretical preconditions for rational choosing of the experimental factors and their levels, as well as specific designs are discussed. Potentialities of polynomial statistic model analysis in development of optimal regimens for combined chemoimmunotherapy are shown.

[Low-molecular immunomodulators of natural origin].

It was shown that low molecular peptides Nos. 1 and 2 produced by soil bacteria had a pronounced immunostimulating effect. When the preparations were administered at various periods with respect to immunization the number of AFC in the spleen of immunized animals increased 2-4 times. Preparation No. 2 in a dose of 0.5-25 mg/kg increased delayed type hypersensitivity and hemagglutinin levels in blood serum. The maximum effect was observed when the preparation was administered 24 or 48 hours after immunization. The ability to stimulate immunological processes in animals may probably be attributed to the fact that preparations Nos. 1 and 2 are efficient against carcinoma 755 and not toxic in vitro.

[Clinico-immunologic aspects of the differentiated use of plasma substitutes in the complex treatment of various bronchopulmonary diseases].

The authors present some theoretical and experimental prerequisites for differentiated use of hemodez, rheopolyglucin and gelatinol in asthma, chronic bronchitis and pneumonia. A positive effect of the agents including low- and medium-molecular polymers on the clinical and immunological indices of 82 patients with bronchopulmonary pathology was shown as compared to corresponding control groups. Clinico-immunological studies on the use of drugs containing synthetic and biological polymers revealed their high immunomodulating activity and necessity of differentiated use of these drugs with relation to the pathogenetic mechanisms of development of bronchopulmonary diseases as well as mechanisms of their immunological action determined by the molecular mass of polymers as constituents of blood substitutes.

[Effect of polysaccharides isolated from marine invertebrates on various functions of T- and B lymphocytes].

The effect of bioglycans from sea invertebrate on the level of the rosette forming cells (RFC) in the spleen, development of the delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) induced by sheep red blood cells (SRBC) and the levels of hemagglutinins and hemolysins in the blood serum was studied in experimental animals. It was shown that the polysaccharides administered parenterally in a single dose had an effect on the humoral and cellular immunity. Under the effect of these preparations the level of the RFC in the spleen of the mice increased, with the increase of the RFC belonging to the lymphocyte T2- and B-subpopulations being more intensive. The use of the polysaccharides increased the mean geometric titers of serum antibodies. The polysaccharides administered at different periods with respect to the immunization and antigen challenge either decreased or increased the DTH induced by SRBC.

[Experimental multifactorial study of the effect of doxycycline and glucosaminylmuramyl dipeptide on the primary immunologic response to antigens of a tularemia vaccine strain].

The effect of the combined use of doxycycline and glucosaminylmuramyl dipeptide (GMDP) on the primary immune response to antigens of tularemia vaccine was studied on CBA male mice with the use of the multifactorial design of experiment. Antibodies to the blood serum of the immunized animals were determined by the passive hemagglutination test with the use of the tularemia antigen diagnosticum. The delayed type hypersensitivity was estimated by changes in the weight of the extremities of the experimental and control animals treated with the antigen and saline solution, respectively. The multifactorial experiments provided precise quantitative characteristics of the optimal dose-time schedule for the combined use of GMDP and doxycycline.
