[Early diagnosis of cardiac insufficiency in patients with ischemic heart disease and hypertension in medical jurisprudence].

Results of a study into the myocardium function in 440 patients with ischemic heart and hypertensive diseases are presented. In the study poly-kineto-apex-cardiography, rheography of the aorta and lungs, ultrasonic cardiography at rest in 123 of 440 patients were used after veloergometric loading. The application of the mentioned methods in conjunction with the veloergometric test helped diagnose a latent cardiac insufficiency that proved most frequent among patients with myocardial infarction in their past history (84.5%) and among those suffering from hypertensive disease with prevalence of the cardiac syndrome. An inference is drawn on the need for a complex investigation of patients at the clinic and especially in the practice of the medical expert testimony on the work capacity.

[Analysis of the reserve capacity of the myocardium in patients with hypertensive disease and its importance for disability evaluation].

The paper presents an analysis of the results of a comprehensive clinical and instrumental examination (poly- and apex-cardiography) of 156 patients with essential hypertension (Stages I, I-II and II, according to L.I. Fogelson's classification) and of 40 normal individuals, that was undertaken to study the functional state and the reserves of the left ventricular myocardium. The disorders in the functional state and the reduction of the reserve capacity were shown to progress along with the stage of the disease. The clinical and labour prognosis of the patients with essential hypertension depend on the character of its course, stage of the disease, degree of functional disorders and reserve capacity of the myocardium, as well as on the profession and labour conditions. The employment of a broad complex of cardiological diagnostic techniques at rest and following dosaged bicycle ergometric load helps to determine the clinical and labour prognosis with greater precision and more objectively, and to solve the problems of timely employment of hypertensive patients.

[The role of disorders in the functions of the cerebral catecholamine system in the pathogenesis of chronic alcoholism].

The authors studied the functions of central and peripheral catecholamine systems in patients with chronic alcoholism. The influence of acute and chronic administration of alcohol was studied in experiments in animals as well as its discontinuation on the catecholamine structures in different areas of the CNS. The obtained data demonstrated that alcohol exerts a specific influence on the catecholamine brain systems which has typical regularities. An analysis of the acheived results permits to assume that the influence of alcohol on the catecholamine brain structures is one of the main links in the pathogenesis of chronic alcoholism.
