[Microcirculatory bed of the bulbar conjunctiva in 3- to 9-month-old fetuses].

In 32 corpses of 3-9-month-old fetuses the diameter, length amount of the microcirculatory bed vessels and their wall thickness have been studied in different areas of the eye bulb conjunctiva by means of impregnation after Kuprianov. General morphofunctional vascular peculiarities have been revealed. They are connected with age and structure of the developing tissues in the eye bulb conjunctiva. Two stages of development have been defined: 3-6 and 7-9 months.

Conjunctiva↗

[Age-specific features of the vessels of the microcirculatory bed of the conjunctiva].

The microcirculatory bed of various parts of the human bulbar conjunctiva in ontogenesis has been studied in 63 preparations of the eyeball by means of complex morphological methods. Structural peculiarities and functions of all parts of the micro-vessels have been revealed in fetuses, their conjunctiva being not yet subjected to any environmental effect, and in successive age groups of the postnatal development. The period of stabilization and differentiation for all parts of the microcirculatory bed in the eyeball conjunctiva has been stated. Certain age changes of the microcirculatory bed have been revealed in all sectors and in various parts within the sectors; these changes should be taken into account at biomicroscopy and when analysing the data obtained.

[Veno-arterial index of the liver].

Calculating according to the formulas (Formula: see text), where D is the vascular diameter and H--the blood pressure in it, the venoarterial index in the fetus liver is obtained. The difficulty for the determination of the index is connected with the fact that there are several afferent and efferent vessels in which blood is flowing under various pressure. The venoarterial index characterizes the hemodynamic conditions in the organs. Studies on the venoarterial index in most organs of fetuses, children, mature persons and old people, in particular, to define more accurately the dynamics of certain pathological disorders should be performed comparing it with blood pressure, resistance and blood flow volume results.

[Sources of the blood supply to the human bulbar conjunctiva].

In 93 complex preparations of the human orbit, the sources for blood supply of the eyeball conjunctiva, types of orbital vessels, including size of their diameters, were studied. The open parts of the conjunctiva were stated to get arteries of greater diameters comparing to those supplying the subconjunctival parts. It was noted that some sources of blood supply take their origin from the external carotid artery. This fact should be taken into account when choosing the part for biomicroscopy of the eyeball conjunctiva vessels.
